Our Story

One Valley Foundation was created with a simple belief: when a community comes together, meaningful change follows.

As the charitable arm of the Coachella Valley Firebirds, One Valley Foundation exists to ensure everyone in our valley has the opportunity to thrive—on and off the ice. From the very beginning, the Foundation was built to reflect the spirit of this region: diverse, hardworking, passionate, and united by a shared love of sport and community.

Long before the Firebirds ever dropped their first puck, the commitment to give back was already taking shape. The Foundation launched hockey programs across all three local school districts, expanding access to the game while using hockey as a gateway to education, confidence, and connection. That early focus set the tone for everything that followed—local impact, lasting legacy, and inclusive opportunity.

Rooted in the Valley

What makes One Valley Foundation different is where—and how—our work shows up. Nearly every dollar raised stays right here in the Coachella Valley, supporting the people, schools, and organizations that make this community home.

Through game‑worn jersey auctions, special events, raffles, and donor‑driven initiatives, the Foundation has reinvested hundreds of thousands of dollars back into the valley, helping address real needs in real time—from classroom funding and youth programs to family support and community partnerships.

Each season, Firebirds fans play an essential role in that impact. Every bid, ticket, and donation becomes fuel for programs that strengthen our community and widen access to hockey for the next generation.

Community Impact

The One Valley Foundation is dedicated to leaving a lasting legacy in our valley through our three pillars of Education, Community, and Access to Hockey. These Pillars are funded through our online jersey auctions and special events listed below.

Firebirds Dia de los Muertos Night

“With the funds raised from the Dia de los Muertos Jersey Auction, the One Valley Foundation will donate the proceeds to the Coachella Valley Housing Coalition. This funding will support after-school programs for the children of farmworkers, eliminate overdue rent for 33 farmworker households, and cover the rent for December for 38 senior farmworkers and their families. Our contribution aims to help these hardworking and vital members of our community focus on what matters most—each other and the holiday season—rather than financial burdens.” Andrew Mason,  Senior Director, Firebirds Community Relations and the One Valley Foundation.
